本作を覆う白丹波釉は、雪解けの光を想わせるやわらかな乳白色。その奥で釉薬が微かに桜色を帯び、淡い朝靄のような陰影を宿します。焼成中に散った鉄粉が点描のように輝き、素朴な土味の上に可憐な星屑を描き出しています。
