The park is quite different in the winter with just a small portion of road open in the park

A new year has begun and I took the opportunity to photograph the first sunrise of 2013 in Denver

Many of the wildflowers in the area were starting to peak which made a nice hike even more memorable

The ski resort is not yet open

Pine Cone Size:11"x14" The park is quite differentIt was a much different day in the Denver area today then yesterday. With cold temperatures and overcast skies I went looking for an image leading me up Lookout Mountain from Golden. Quickly I ended up in the fog which was quite thick at times. Upon reaching Windy Saddle, I stopped to see the view (which there was none) but soon noticed the frost on the trees in the area.
