Mellish Family Vineyards Bakenkop Blanc Fume 2022 2015 matured for 10 years inBakenkop Blanc Fume is produced from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes harvested from a vineyard planted in 2004 on the south facing slopes of Bakenkop Hill on Welbeloond Farm. The vineyard has ancient, stony, shale soils and sits 160m above sea level and 9km east of the Atlantic Ocean. Handpicked into crates in the early morning, 80% of the grapes underwent whole bunch pressing, followed by overnight settling. The wine was then transferred into equal
