Great Egret Scenes from Africa I prefer to hunker downWatercolor on canvas 24 x 10 When you think of a Great Egret, a natural water bird, you dont typically think of the desert southwest. However, these very large, all white herons are found in Arizona! They occur wherever shallow water with fish or amphibians is present. This particular fellow was spotted out on Saguaro Lake one spring day when my husband and I took a boat out for a spin.
